Your Planned Giving Options

Explore your planned giving options below, or contact us to discuss your unique situation with one of our specialists.

A gift in your will or living trust

Did you know your estate plan can provide for your family, first and foremost, and still include a gift in your will to Earthjustice? Many people find that this allows them to balance the needs of their loved ones with the desire to support Earthjustice’s long-term defense of communities, wildlife, and the natural world. Learn about gifts in your will or living trust.

A gift by beneficiary designation

It only takes minutes to name Earthjustice as a partial or total beneficiary of a retirement account, brokerage account, donor-advised fund (DAF), life insurance policy, or other financial account. Learn about gifts by beneficiary designation.

A gift in your donor-advised fund succession plan

If you already have a donor-advised fund, have you considered what will happen to the balance remaining after your lifetime? Specifying how you want those funds distributed ensures your wishes are fulfilled instead of allowing an advisor to make the decision for you. Learn about DAF succession plans.

A gift that pays you income with potential for growth

When you donate real estate or other appreciated assets to a charitable remainder trust, you will receive a stream of income, pay no capital gains tax on the initial gift, and help defend people and the planet. Learn about life income gifts and charitable remainder trusts.

A gift that pays you fixed income for life

A charitable gift annuity is a gift that gives back. You make a deeply meaningful gift to Earthjustice and receive dependable payments for life, as well as substantial tax benefits. Learn about life income gifts and charitable gift annuities.

A gift of real estate

By donating all or a partial interest in real property to Earthjustice, you can create a powerful environmental legacy while reducing taxes. Some giving plans allow you to create replacement income; other plans allow you to continue to use or live on the property for life. Learn about gifts of real estate.

Why We Give to Earthjustice

“Preserving precious resources requires devotion to a higher set of values and the desire to create a future where all life can flourish.

The Evergreen Council

Earthjustice welcomes those who create a legacy gift for us into the Evergreen Council. This community of supporters believes that creating a life income gift and remembering us in their estate plan are powerful ways to bring about positive change and build a better future for all.

Evergreen Council members serve as an inspiration for others who want to combat the intersecting crises of climate change, widespread pollution, mass extinction, and environmental injustice.

As a benefit of being on the Evergreen Council, members gain access to one-on-one conversations with our lawyers and can witness our work first-hand on curated trips with Earthjustice staff. They are also invited to in-person and virtual events, including an annual town hall with Abigail Dillen, president of Earthjustice.
